In addition, UNESCO is involved in promoting science and research. It also promotes the conservation of cultural heritage. The organization also plays a key role in promoting freedom of expression and access to information, working to ensure that communication is free and accessible to all. This includes supporting quality journalism and protecting journalists in conflict zones.
